University Staff
Requesting Teaching AppointmentÌýfor University Staff (Additional Job)
- Note: A new additional job letter is required for each semester that a University Staff member wishes to teach.
- The unit sends the following documents to CAS Faculty Affairs (cas-faculty@colorado.edu) via email for review, approval, and routing:
- The text of the email shouldÌýcontainÌýthe following information:
- Staff Member’s EID
- Staff Member’s Primary Position Number
- Staff Member’s Primary Position Title
- Staff Member’s FTE and Percent of Appointment inÌýtheir staff job
- Compensation for the requested teaching appointment
- Full name of course to be taught
- Course number of course to be taught (example: DEPT 1111-001)
- Term of course to be taught
- Name and email address of staff member’s Direct Supervisor for their staff position
- Name and email address of Dean or Provost overseeing the Staff Member’s staff position
- Staff Member's CV
- Courses Agreed to Teach Grid
- Letter of Recommendation, from one faculty member within the hiring department, explaining the Staff Member’s qualifications to teach the specific course
- A new letter of recommendation is required for each semester that a University Staff member wishes to teach
- The text of the email shouldÌýcontainÌýthe following information:
- CAS Faculty Affairs will route the hiring packet for signature.Ìý
NOTE: For staff members teaching on a regular basis, the department may be required to update the PDQ of the staff position to include teaching; for information on this process, please reach out to cas-staff@colorado.edu.Ìý
