The Korey Wise Innocence Project (KWIP) works to exonerate people who have been wrongfully convicted of crimes in Colorado. Summer interns screen applications from people in prison who are claiming innocence and seeking KWIP's help.
All law students are welcome to apply for a summer internship with KWIP. Interns primarily screen new applications from people in Colorado prisons claiming innocence. They gather a range of materials -- including appellate decisions, briefs, other court filings, and media coverage -- and then draft a memo that summarizes the case and identifies potential avenues for developing new evidence of innocence. Interns then present the case to KWIP's staff with a recommendation on whether the case should be accepted for a full record review and possible investigation/litigation. Interns also may have the opportunity to work with KWIP's staff attorneys on cases in active investigation and/or litigation.

KWIP is looking for a work-study student to assist with the implementation of their program Legislation Inside (LI). LI is a program comprised of representatives who are currently incarcerated throughout the Colorado Department of Corrections. We meet weekly (via Google Meets) to learn about Colorado state policy, brainstorm and develop ideas for new bills, offer input to other policy stakeholder groups, and work with Representatives and Senators in the Colorado General Assembly to advocate for prison and sentence reform.
The work-study student would assist with the day-to-day logistics of this program, including but not limited to, communicating, and getting information to the incarcerated representatives, assisting in scheduling meetings with different community groups, assisting with scheduling guest speakers for our weekly Google Meets meetings, policy and legal research, and accompanying the facilitators on in-person prison visits. Because of the nature of policy work, we are looking for a student who is able to work in a fast-paced environment, comfortable communicating with incarcerated people and Department of Corrections staff, and open to being flexible on projects and deadlines. Job Description/Summary: ÌýThis is an hourly position, assisting the Clinical Education office at the law school with client, event, and general office support.

This is an in-person, front desk position that will provide information to patrons and law students regarding the Clinical Education Program (also known as the Law Clinics). Job Title: Student Assistant, Korey Wise Innocence Project (KWIP)
Job Description/Summary: ÌýThis is an in-person administrative support position at the KWIP office in the Wolf Law Building. KWIP works to exonerate the wrongfully convicted in Colorado while also pushing for reforms to prevent such injustices at the front end.
Job Duties:
Student assistants process incoming mail from individuals in Colorado prisons with claims of factual innocence. Student assistants also receive training and then work with KWIP attorneys to build files for cases under review. This entails learning to use platforms such as Westlaw and Bloomberg Law and then pulling court opinions, appellate briefs, and other materials. Student assistants also provide general administrative support to KWIP's staff attorneys.

Job Title: Adjunct Professor
Each semester, Colorado Law hires adjunct professors to teach courses at the law school.Ìý The courses change from semester to semester, depending on our curricular needs.Ìý We hire adjuncts for our J.D., M.S.L. in Ethics and Compliance, and L.L.M. programs.Ìý While we hire to teach courses in a wide range of areas, we regularly hire adjuncts in areas in which experience as a practicing attorney is especially helpful, such as Trial Advocacy, Legal Ethics and Professionalism, and Transactional Drafting. The stipend for adjunct professors is $1,932 per credit hour.Ìý If the course is co-taught with another adjunct or instructor the rate is $966 per credit hour. This position is not eligible for benefits.
As of January 1, 2025 the per-credit pay rate will be $2,010 or $1,005 for co-teaching.
