Several positions are available in the laboratory.
The University of Colorado Boulder has a dynamic research environment and undergraduate researchers are a vital part of the research culture. The excitement of laboratory research can facilitate learning in the classroom allowing new knowledge and breakthroughs to enliven the learning process. Many programs facilitate undergraduate research by providing mentorship resources and financial support.
The University of Colorado Boulder has vibrant inter-departmental Neuroscience Ph.D. program. Students in our graduate program represent bright scientific minds, and many have shown an early commitment to research. Because they enter our Program with different backgrounds, and the laboratories in which they choose to work are so diverse, our program is designed to be flexible. The Neuroscience Ph.D. program has flexible course requirements and a "track" structure that is tailored to the needs of students in particular subdisciplines.
Postdoctoral research associates are expected to have a Ph.D. with an advanced level of knowledge in a field of science. These positions require high intellectual engagement with research activities, independent research investigation and supervisory roles of other research personnel.
Professional research assistant positions are tailored for individuals that have already earned a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in the sciences and are looking for a permanent career in research or wanting to gain some additional research experience before applying to graduate and/or medical school.  Professional Research Assistants come from many backgrounds and possess a wide variety of research skills and extensive laboratory experience. Their expertise is critical to the success of our researchers and many go on to graduate or medical school after working in our laboratories.
