International Student Peer Mentor Program

The International Student Peer Mentor Program connects current 蜜桃传媒破解版下载 students with new international students to ease their transition to 蜜桃传媒破解版下载, promote meaningful interactions between current students and new international students, develop intercultural communication skills, and strengthen community among students. Mentors begin communicating with our new international students early in the semester to help them adjust to CU and establish connections and relationships and learn about resources. An important role of the mentors will be to continue communicating with their mentees throughout the semester to ensure that mentees feel welcome and a part of the CU community.

Fall 2024 International Student Peer Mentee applications have now closed

International Student Peer Mentors are students who make a positive difference in someone鈥檚 life, create new friendships, and build leadership and intercultural skills!

Benefits of Being an International Student Peer Mentor:

  • Get paired with one or multiple incoming international students (mentees) this spring.
  • Communicate with assigned mentee(s) to help them adjust to CU and establish connections and relationships. 

Mentor Qualifications:

  • Must have completed at least two semesters at 蜜桃传媒破解版下载 by December 2024
  • Must be registered as a full-time student at 蜜桃传媒破解版下载 for Spring 2025
  • Must have knowledge of services offered on campus in order to refer new students with questions
  • Must have the ability to relate well with a diverse group of people, and the ability to develop and promote intercultural understanding and global engagement

Mentor Expectations:

  • Attend one Peer Mentor Virtual Training in January: Dates and Zoom link to follow
  • Communicate with your mentee online (via email or social media) and in-person (if comfortable) throughout the semester. Check in on mentee every few weeks.
  • Generate excitement about attending 蜜桃传媒破解版下载 and answer mentee鈥檚 questions about academic and campus life in a timely manner.  

Mentor Volunteer Position

The International Student Peer Mentor position is an opportunity to develop leadership and intercultural communication skills and contribute to a thriving campus community; it is an unpaid, volunteer position. Mentors may receive references for future leadership, volunteer and intercultural communication positions.
