Student Awards
- Five graduating seniors from the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering earned Graduating Student Awards from the College of Engineering and Applied Science this year.
- Grant Bauman, a second-year graduate student advised by Gallogly Professor Tim White, recently received the 2021 National Defense Science and Engineering Graduate Fellowship Award (NDSEG). The fellowship recognizes graduate students who have demonstrated academic excellence in science and technology fields of interest to the Department of Defense.
- Six students in the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering have won prestigious National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship Program (NSF GRFP) awards.
- Erica McNamee, a junior in the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering, is among 44 undergraduates selected for the Brooke Owens Fellowship Class of 2021.
- Graduate students Kathryn Mains and Kyle Schlafmann have earned fellowships in the National Defense Science and Engineering Graduate Fellowship Program, a prestigious, national security-focused initiative.
- Samuel Hoff of the Heinz lab will study in Paris via the prestigious Chateaubriand Fellowship.
- Lai earns Silver Medal and Research awards, three ChBE students earn top academic achievement honorsLai, Boerman, Mechling and Nielson wrapped their senior year with top CEAS honors.
- Sixteen undergraduate and graduate students from the College of Engineering and Applied Science have earned prestigious Graduate Research Fellowships from the National Science Foundation.
- Three undergraduates and one doctoral student from Professor Al Weimer’s research group earned poster awards this month at the 2019 AIChE Annual Meeting in Orlando, Florida.
- Leading up to the award, he was the first student in his major to study abroad in back-to-back semesters in two different countries: New Zealand and Singapore.
