“I have nothing but positive things to say about the modified foreign language program. I took this class for just one semester after I completed 2 semesters of regular spanish. My first two semesters of Spanish were very difficult for me and I had always felt like I was falling behind. I immensely disliked going to Spanish class because of my struggles with the language and the pressure put on me when called on randomly. I switched into the MFPL Spanish class and it felt like I made a complete 180 in my view of Spanish class. Soon into the semester, to my surprise, this class became my absolute favorite. We were taught Spanish in a way that resonated well with me at a pace I felt comfortable with. Professor Huard's class had always felt like a welcoming and enjoyable environment. I highly recommend taking this course instead of regular Spanish if you find learning a foreign language difficult”

“Before coming to Ҵýƽ, I had taken Spanish classes throughout high school and struggled immensely. I have ADHD and my Spanish classes in high school moved at a fast pace, they had 30+ kids in a class, and there was little support. Knowing that I had to take a foreign language in college gave me a tremendous amount of anxiety, until I found out about the MLP at CU.  The MLP could not have been more helpful to me in college. It took away the anxiety of taking Spanish courses and ended up being a class I looked forward to every week. I was in a small classroom that moved at a pace that allowed me to actually learn Spanish. My professor was incredible and was very supportive of all her students. She wanted all of us to do well and this was evident in the support she gave us throughout all the courses. This allowed me to do very well in all of my Spanish classes, gain confidence, and I’ve since graduated with honors. I cannot speak highly enough of this program and would suggest it to anyone who needs extra support in a college-level language course.”

"In past, language classes my dyslexia, and prior brain trauma, made learning a new language my biggest fear .... Fast forward to now, I can honestly say I love Spanish class, and even better I am actually learning Spanish ....The modified Spanish program takes each student's individual learning style into account and promotes interaction and engagement .... I am so grateful for the modified Spanish program at CU, it has given me the opportunity to learn a foreign language, something I once thought impossible."
