Veteran's Day Ceremony
Monday, Nov. 5 

Learn more about summer internships and other summer education abroad programs at the Summer Abroad Fair 3:30鈥5:30 p.m. in the Rec Center ice rink overlook.


Tuesday, Nov. 6

Drop by the  BTU Lab for an open house night of hacking, beginning at 6 p.m. Eat cupcakes, bring a project (or just come see the cool things other people are working on) and hack the planet.

Today鈥檚 job search demands not only stellar applications and active networks but often a professional presence online as well. In this workshop, learn ways to represent your personal brand by leveraging online tools that make sense for your individual goals. Create a strategy for presenting your skills to the world and making yourself 鈥渇indable鈥 for those who need your expertise. Workshop begins at 11 a.m. in UMC 245.

Program Council Film Series presents a special advance screening of Green Book. Tickets are free, but they must be picked up in advance in the Program Council office, UMC 401. The movie will be shown in Chem 140 at 8 p.m.


Wednesday, Nov. 7

The Herd: Welcome Wednesday

Stop by the Koenig Alumni Center between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. for a free lunch (from The Sink and Insomnia Cookies) open to all CU students. If you鈥檙e a Herd member, make sure to have your Herd app downloaded for giveaways. Guest speaker this month is Lego artist Imagine Rigney.

Ed Talks

Inspired by TED Talks, the School of Education's Ed Talks explores hot topics in education through short and engaging presentations. Speakers will explore the collective power of students of color, new narratives for young people as political agents and more. Free and open to the public. The talks begin at 7 p.m. at the , Gordon Gamm Theater. RSVP is recommended, as space is limited.

Join Boulder Food Rescue's Lindsey Loberg for a talk on food accessibility in Boulder. The free talk starts at 6 p.m. in Hellems 241.

Thursday, Nov. 8

Kevin Hines is a best-selling author, documentary filmmaker and suicide prevention and mental health advocate who has reached millions with his inspiring personal story of unlikely survival. At age 19, two years after he was diagnosed with bipolar disorder, he attempted to take his life by jumping from the Golden Gate Bridge. Since then, Hine's strong will to live and stay mentally well has inspired people worldwide. This free screening of his documentary will be in VAC 1B20. Hines also will be  Monday, Nov. 12.


Friday, Nov. 9

Join the UMC and Veteran and Military Affairs for the annual Veterans Day Ceremony, featuring keynote speaker Vice Admiral Herman A. Shelanski, United States Navy (ret). The ceremony begins at 11 a.m. in the UMC Glenn Miller Ballroom.

CU on Friday
