Sept. 19Ìýthrough the Sept. 23Ìýmarks the seventh annual (NPAW). NPAW was launched by the (NPA) and officially recognized by the U.S. House of Representatives in 2010. Institutions across the nation have used NPAW to raise awareness and acknowledge the hard work and substantial contributions that postdocs make to the national (and international) research and teaching enterprise. In 2015, over 100 institutions in the United States and Canada celebrated postdocs through hundreds of award ceremonies and recognition events, career development seminars and symposia.Ìý

Postdoctoral scholars are individuals who have received a doctoral agree and are performing additional research, with the guidance of faculty mentors, in preparation for independent careers. Postdocs are major drivers of research productivity. Postdoc research at ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½Æƽâ°æÏÂÔØ spans the social, physical and biological sciences as well as engineering, mathematics and humanities. ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½Æƽâ°æÏÂÔØ postdoc research has been highlighted in top-tier journals including Nature, Cell and Science.Ìý

This year, ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½Æƽâ°æÏÂÔØ stands with our peer institutions and the NPA to honor postdocs on campus and at affiliated National Labs with a series of events including a Postdoctoral Research Symposium on Wednesday, Sept. 21Ìýand a Postdoc Appreciation Barbecue on Thursday, Sept.Ìý22. and Postdoctoral Association of Colorado would like to thank ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½Æƽâ°æÏÂÔØ postdocs in light of their contributions to the community.
