Join us for a free special event at Fiske Planetarium at 2:00 pm on April 23, 2022.Ìý CU student actorsÌýwill present three scenesÌýfrom the Department of Theatre and Dance Roe Green productionÌýThey Promised Her the MoonÌýby Laurel Ollstein, against the backdrop of the planetarium dome.ÌýÌýThey Promised Her the MoonÌýtells the true story of aviator Jerrie Cobb and theÌýMercury 13: a group of women who underwent rigorous psychological and physical astronaut training but were ultimately denied entry into the space program based on their sex.

Associate Professor Tamara Meneghini directs and will moderate a conversation to follow about women in space with the playwright Laurel Ollstein, members of the cast, andÌýProfessor of Astrophysical and Planetary SciencesÌýFrances "Fran" Bagenal.
