Christi Sue has been honored with a Provost Faculty Achievement award!

From the Provost’s letter:

“In selecting you for this award, the faculty committee pointed to the importance of your book Durable Ethnicity: Mexican Americans and the Ethnic Core, published by Oxford University Press in 2019. Members of the committee appreciated how the book draws on the complexities, variabilities, and nuances of Mexican-American immigrant lived experiences, which are typically neglected in traditional assimilation and integration narratives in the United States. More specifically, they lauded your thoughtful and comprehensive analysis of the ethnic core, and were deeply impressed by the rigor and robustness of your qualitative and quantitative data. This is profound and impactful work that greatly advances the current conversation on identity, culture, and contemporary immigration politics.”
