Religious Studies Students Receive FLAS Fellowships for Arabic and Tibetan Language Study
Congratulations to four Masters students in Religious Studies who received the FLAS (Foreign Language and Area Studies) Fellowships this year!
FLAS awards for summer language study were awarded to:
- Andreas VanDenendÌýfor Arabic language study in Fez, Morocco at the Arabic Language InstituteÌý
- Eric HaynieÌýfor Tibetan language study in Kathmandu at the Rangjung Yeshe Institute
- Ravenna MichalsenÌýalso for Tibetan language study in Kathmandu at the Rangjung Yeshe Institute
A year-round FLAS was awarded toÌýAngela MalyÌýto fund her study of Arabic for the 2011-2012 academic year. Angela is currently studying Islam in the United States, focusing on the polemics surrounding the Park51 community center.
