Christopher Pacheco is the Assistant Vice Chancellor of the Office of Precollege Outreach and Engagement. He is a first-generation college student from a family of ten children. He graduated from Battle Mountain High School in 1982, received his B.A. from ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½Æƽâ°æÏÂÔØ in 1987 in Environmental, Population and Organismic Biology and went on to complete a Master’s Degree in Educational Foundations, Policy & Practice in 2016. His professional career has been dedicated to providing access to higher education for first-generation students and students from communities who are underrepresented in higher education. He began his career as the director of the Pre-Collegiate Development Program at the University of Colorado Boulder campus from 1987 until 1999.
He served as Associate Director for Academic Enrichment Programs in ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½Æƽâ°æÏÂÔØ Student Academic Services Center from 1999 until 2008. As the Asst. Vice Chancellor he supervises numerous pre-college outreach programs that provide services across Colorado and in a five-state region surrounding Colorado. In addition, the Office of Precollege Outreach and Engagement conducts a Precollege Bridge Program that facilitates students' transition to and through ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½Æƽâ°æÏÂÔØ in pursuit of a postsecondary credential.
