We’re so proud of the amazing Lírios Quartet—the College of Music’s��Graduate String Quartet in Residence—who recently visited five schools from Aspen to Glenwood Springs as part of the AMFS Musical Connections program, in addition to visiting AMFS after-school programs and performing a recital at the Basalt Regional Library. • Congratulations to Lydia Wagenknecht, PhD candidate in ethnomusicology, for winning the People’s Choice award in the Three-Minute Thesis Competition! Her presentation—“What Does Climate Change Sound Like?”—earned her $500 in research funds.��
• We’re so proud of Allison Zema (Music Ed ’18) for receiving this year’s Outstanding Young Music Educator Award at the Colorado Music Educators Association’s 2023 Conference/Clinic. Our grads have received this recognition for five years in a row!
• We’re thrilled for alumnus and Jazz Studies Lecturer Hugh Ragin—trumpeter, flugelhornist, composer and scholar—for being extensively featured in the January 2023 issue of The International Trumpet Guild Journal!
