I’m thrilled to welcome you back to a more traditional in-person experience at the College of Music, and what better way to celebrate than coming together for the Warner Imig Music Building dedication ceremony and open house on Sept. 17. Festivities will begin at 11 a.m. on the southeast side of our building and Join us as we celebrate our completed expansion and tour the new space while enjoying performances, rehearsals, presentations and refreshments alongside other members of our community. • Congratulations! Rebecca Maloy of the College of Music and Roy Parker of Biochemistry and the BioFrontiers Institute have been selected to receive 2021-2022 Distinguished Research Lectureships. Professor of Musicology and Erismann Faculty Fellow, Maloy also serves as director of the Center for Medieval and Early Modern Studies in the College of Arts and Sciences. One of the world’s leading scholars of chant from the Iberian Peninsula, Maloy’s current work examines the Old Hispanic chant of the Iberian Peninsula from historical, liturgical, theological and musicological perspectives. 
• Our American Music Research Center is breaking ground with its innovative Soundscapes of the People project, a comprehensive research effort in collaboration with local community stakeholders to document, preserve and engage with diverse musical and cultural influences in and around Pueblo, Colorado. The research team aims to address the lack of representation and inclusion in the history of Southern Colorado culture.
• Peak to Peak Webinar Concert Series: the Program in Jewish Studies—in collaboration with the College of Music—is offering three webinar concerts + discussions this fall. Coming up on Sept. 20: Contemporary Klezmer Music and Yiddish Song. Learn more and register.

• Simple safety measures reduce musical COVID-19 transmission: Can playing musical instruments transmit COVID-19? And if so, what can be done? The first official research results are in—and it’s good news: The show can go on. 
• Stay informed about COVID-19 protocols on campus. Masks are required in public indoor spaces on the ���Ҵ�ý�ƽ������ campus, regardless of vaccination status; masking also applies to community members attending in-person indoor events on campus.
