- Hayley Cashdollar (BSME ’12), head of manufacturing at Lightship, the first all-electric recreational vehicle manufacturer, is committed to including people with an array of perspectives on her growing team. Her experineces have made her uniquely committed to DEI and work related to company culture.
- Kevin Martin (MechEngr’16) hopes to transform the waste-heavy manufacturing process of the fashion industry, starting with made-to-order pants.
- As a Senior Mechanical Engineer with NREL, alumna Alicen Kandt’s goal is to inspire people to embrace more resilient and sustainable energy options. She earned her master’s degree from the Department of Mechanical Engineering in 2004.
- Alumnus Craig Sampson (MechEngr’82) is the founder and leader of the Chicago consulting firm TBD Innovation. He will be delivering the Department of Mechanical Engineering’s keynote speech during the Graduation Recognition Ceremony on Saturday, May 7.
- Mechanical engineering alumnus Sreyas Krishnan has played a critical role in United Launch Alliance’s (ULA) latest Atlas V rocket launch, which carried another weather satellite into space on Tuesday, March 1.
- Jeanne Barthold is a ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½Æƽâ°æÏÂÔØ alumna and founder of TissueForm - a company that has developed a platform technology for the biomimicry of body tissues to repair areas of significant tissue loss or injury.
- Alumnus Michael Lewis (MechEngr’00) took an interdisciplinary education to the next level. After graduating with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and working at Boeing for a year, he discovered another way to help people – through medicine.
- Paul M. Rady Department of Mechanical Engineering alumnus Will Brown (MechEngr’92) has established the Connie Faye Brown scholarship to benefit mechanical, chemical or electrical engineering students.
