Prof. Kira Hall’s undergraduate course on Language and Digital Media is central to a  published in CPR News (October 30, 2019). Titled “Teens Aren’t Breaking Language, They’re Adding To It,” the article focuses on the rapidly evolving nature of digital forms of expression. Drawing from research conducted by students in Prof. Hall’s course, the article discusses new meanings associated with the period and ellipsis in text messaging alongside strategies for expressing sarcasm, including one inspired by a Sponge Bob meme (pictured at right).
