Plasticity in Recognition, lncRNA Biology
The emergence ofÌýmyriad RNA sequences of unknown biological function begs the question of whether they form productive interactions within the cell. Given the prevalence and biological importance of DNA-binding transcription factors, I am particularly interested in plasticity at the DNA-binding interface and the mechanisms of RNA accommodation. I am taking anÌýin vitroÌýbiochemical approach to explore the RNA-binding capacity of transcription factors and define the rules for RNA binding as it relates to regulation of transcription.
