Plasticity in Recognition, lncRNA Biology

I study several RNA-protein interactions that are crucial for appropriate biological function. Defining these interactions allows us to better understand the molecular mechanisms that govern these important biological processes. In an effort to identify nucleotides and residues important at these interfaces, I employ various molecular biology and biochemical techniques such as recombinant protein purification, in vitro transcription and RNA purification, gel shifts, and RNA footprinting.

Other interests: When not in lab, Meagan likes to play soccer and softball, listen to music, and binge-watch Netflix shows such as Shameless and BoJack Horseman.
