The study of sociology includes social theory, research methods, social stratification, race relations, social change, criminology, demography, sex roles, religion, social psychology and human ecology.

Economics is a highly quantitative major with emphasis in real-world application and analysis. Microeconomics studies daily decisions of consumers and companies whereas macroeconomics studies how those decisions impact the size and growth of the economy overall. Topics are multi-disciplinary spanning from trade and finance to law and economics to natural resource economics. Students in the quantitative emphasis have an interest in applied mathematics and quantitative research.
The Political Science minor offers instruction in the scientific study of politics and provides students with the skills necessary for a lifetime of inquiry, engagement and analysis. Courses explore various facets of the political world, including the fields of American government and politics, comparative politics, public policy, political theory, empirical theory and methodology, and international relations.

The Strategic Communication Majors explore ways to strategically build brands and engage audiences across multiple media platforms. The major prepares students for careers that combine account and media management with research design and execution, data analysis and strategy development.

The Philosophy major trains students to think rigorously about the deepest and most difficult questions we can ask about the world and our place in it. Students learn about both contemporary and historical philosophers as well as philosophical movements. Additionally philosophy majors gain skills in logical argument and critical examination as well as argument and written and oral communication.
