  • Art Practices allows students to explore their interests and refine their skills in ceramics, Integrated Media Arts Practices/ IMAP (photography, digital media, video, integrated arts), painting and drawing, printmaking, and sculpture and post-studio practice.

  • The Media Production minor provides a foundation in the critical study of media along with a wide range of creative electives. Available topics include photography, audio/video editing, video production, computational media, open source programming, and emergent technology.

  • Creative Technology and Design Major integrates technological skills with a critical, theoretical, and historical understanding of technology, media and design. The program prepares the next generation of artists, designers, and media producers, teaching students to be active and critically aware producers of creative technology

  • Anthropology is the study of people, both ancient and modern, in their cultural, biological and environmental contexts. Anthropologists get to ask and answer the big questions about humanity. Who are we? Where do we come from? Where are we going? A minor in anthropology allows students to explore the foundations of anthropology and its subfields: archaeology, biological anthropology and cultural anthropology.

  • A Cinema Studies major helps students develop skills to analyze the art of film and moving images. The program provides knowledge on the history, methodology, aesthetic value, and production of cinematic storytelling. Critical thinking and writing skills are heavily emphasized as students examine cinema through film screenings, readings, and lectures.

  • The media studies minor emphasizes the creative and analytical skills needed to make sense of current and future trends in media, and to gain a deep understanding of the history and development of various means and forms of communication. Explorations of media theory, history, criticism, practices, popular culture, technology and emerging cultures are enhanced by practical training in media design, storytelling, digital art, online community engagement, documentary filmmaking and social media.

  • From acting to costume technology, the theatre program offers a broad-based BA program intended for students interested in theatre, as well as other areas of study. Theater majors get to explore artistic discipline, creativity, critical insight and interpersonal communication. Students are encouraged to produce their own work and get involved in activities ranging from participation in productions to presentation of individual creative work.

  • The Music Technology Certificate provides students with a strong background in using technology to compose and produce music.

  • The Sociology major focuses on the scientific study of human social behavior, specifically looking at how society influences individuals, and how individuals influence society. Students explore a large array of social topics and phenomena using the sociological imagination.

  • Students in the Information Science minor program learn to collect, analyze and interpret many different information sources to understand our world. They study how we interact with all things digital, including software, devices and algorithms, and are able to create social and technological solutions that are truly engaging for those who use them, apply those solutions to real problems, and evaluate their effectiveness. Mechanical engineering is a broad engineering discipline that incorporates skills and expertise in the areas of design, manufacturing, mechanics and thermal sciences that are essential to most sectors of industry.

  • The Environmental Planning Minor teaches students what it takes to facilitate the decision-making to carry out urban planning, urban design, land development and natural resource conservation with consideration of environmental, social, political and economic factors.
