The Kiewit Design-Build Scholars Program is a scholar program at the University of Colorado Boulder that seeks to engage engineering students in meaningful conversations about their future careers.

Kiewit Corporation is one of the largest and most respected construction and engineering organizations in North America. Kiewit leads, designs, and builds projects across the continent, including transportation (roads, bridges, rail), power (including renewable sources), buildings, water/wastewater, oil and gas, mining, marine and industrial facilities.

The Kiewit Design-Build Scholars Program is intended to identify and inspire students to join this critically important industry. Each scholar will receive a significant scholarship and a guarunteed summer internship offer. Kiewit Corporation covers relocation and housing costs for Kiewit Design-Build Scholars who accept summer internships with them.

Kiewit Scholars are expected to participate in the Kiewit Design-Build Scholars Program activities and events.The four main elements of the program are bi-weekly meetings, industry mentorship, industry internships and financial aid. Other areas of emphasis in the program include areas of personal development such as communication, leadership skills, and industry and professional insights. The scholarship is renewable for subsequent years if the student meets participation and GPA renewal requirements.

Applicants must be currently enrolled in the College of Engineering & Applied Science and have a demonstrated interest in construction engineering and design infrastructure projects. Students must apply during their freshman year at 蜜桃传媒破解版下载, or their sophomore year at CMU if they are a part of the CU-CMU partnership program.

Apply to the Program

The Kiewit Scholars Program provides students with opportunities that will make a difference in their lives, experiences to help build their professional capabilities and networks, and the preparation needed to be leaders within Kiewit and in the industry.

The 4 elements of the program:

  1. Financial aid with an award value of $6,000 per academic year. Students who fulfil participation requirements in the Kiewit Design-Build Scholars Program will be automatically renewed in the program for subsequent years.
  2. Kiewit Scholars bi-weekly meetings: Professional development events, workshops, industry activities and site tours.
  3. The industry mentorship program (all students) and the peer-to-peer mentorship program (underclassmen paired with upperclassmen).
  4. Scholars are guaranteed a summer internship offer with Kiewit. Kiewit covers relocation and housing costs for scholars who accept summer internships with them.

The 2025-26 academic year application is NOW OPEN until March 15, 2025!

In March, select applicants will be offered an interview, and in April, select interviewees will be offered a spot in the program for the 2025-2026 academic year.
