On Thursday, Oct. 29, the School of Education at 蜜桃传媒破解版下载 is hosting a special virtual gathering of Ed Talks that will explore the effects of the pandemic and racial justice movements on today鈥檚 classrooms and the educators who lead them.听
These听short, engaging talks are inspired by TED Talks and will be led by five educators鈥攆rom a first-year teacher grappling with whether to follow the prescribed curricula or center social justice to a seasoned educator who says 2020 feels like her first year due to remote teaching and more.
The series also includes a co-founder and principal of an innovative student-led school in Denver and a student teacher building empathy for teachers and students into her first and future听classrooms.听
The speakers share the struggles that this year has brought to many educators, parents, and students, and a thread connecting each of the educators鈥� perspectives is the opportunity to learn from this moment, address inequities听and establish听new futures in education.
鈥淟et鈥檚 be honest inequities in schooling based on race and class have always been there,鈥� said Brian Lightfoot, Ed Talks 2020 speaker. 鈥淪uffering has always been unequally distributed听nationally and globally. This pandemic gives us the opportunity to acknowledge the impact of inequity and use that awareness as a tool for change.鈥�
