BUENO Center for Multicultural Education welcomes Jesús Rodríguez as Executive Director

This week, the Ҵýƽ School of Education welcomed Jesús Rodríguez as the new of Executive Director of the . 

Jesús Rodríguez

 Rodríguez brings extensive experience as a school and district leader, most recently as an instructional superintendent for Denver Public Schools, and he is an alumnus of the center’s College Assistance Migrant Program (CAMP), Career Ladder Program, and Master's in Educational Equity and Cultural Diversity program.

Rodríguez is currently working on his doctoral degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Denver, and his career has demonstrated strong commitments to social justice and equity for all learners

The BUENO Center has a long legacy of serving educators and strengthening partnerships between the University of Colorado Boulder School of Education and Aims Community College, Otero Junior College, and school districts across Colorado and the nation to promote and advocate for equitable education for culturally and linguistically diverse learners. Rodríguez will lead the center, now in its fifth decade, as it continues to develop federally funded programs, such as CAMP, the High School Equivalency Program, and in-person and hybrid-online master’s degree programs for educators.

“One of the things that excites me most about this opportunity is that the BUENO Center has had a significant impact on me and my journey as an educator,” Rodríguez said. “I know firsthand how beneficial the resources, programs, and leaders at the BUENO Center are to so many diverse professionals and there is a need to continue these essential offerings and expand them. I am looking forward to working with our team to honor the legacy of the center and build upon its strong foundation to benefit communities for generations to come. ¡Que viva el centro BUENO!”
