Ben Kirshner receives Provost鈥檚 Faculty Achievement Award

Kirshner was nominated by the聽Dean Emeritus聽and Distinguished Professor Lorrie Shepard聽and then聽selected for the award聽by a campus committee of his聽colleagues.
In selecting Kirshner聽for this award, the faculty committee pointed to the importance of his聽book,聽, which won the "Best Authored Book鈥 award from the Society for Research on Adolescence in 2015.听They were also intrigued by his quantitative and qualitative examination of the ways in which having youth participate in community activism strengthens development. In addition, the committee聽appreciated Kirshner's聽work as having both scholarly and practical impact, explained聽Provost Russell Moore聽in a letter of recognition.
