In July 2010聽Susanne Skyrm鈥檚 (DMus鈥88)聽Anthology of Eighteenth-Century Spanish Keyboard Music聽(Wayne Leupold) was published. The volume is a significant resource for Spanish keyboard works as many of the pieces in the volume have not previously been published in the United States. Susanne has been on the keyboard faculty at the University of South Dakota since 1988. She maintains an active recital schedule and lives in Vermillion, S.D.

The Active Risk Group in Maidenhead, UK, promoted聽Bob Runnells聽(Aero鈥88) to director of global services to manage a staff of software consultants and trainers. Bob spent his early professional career in the Los Angeles aerospace engineering market, designing advanced composite structures for a diverse set of launch vehicle, satellite and aircraft projects. In September聽Terry Fulp聽(MCivEngr鈥88) was named regional director for the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation鈥檚 lower Colorado region. Since 1989 he has been actively involved in the bureau鈥檚 Colorado River operations and management issues. As regional director he will oversee all operations in southern Nevada, Southern California, most of Arizona and portions of Utah and New Mexico. Terry lives in Boulder City, Nev.

While the program is based in Santa Barbara, Calif., it is distributed across the country. More than 14 years ago, he supplemented his first doctorate in cognitive psychology with a second in clinical psychology and has taught and conducted research at institutions in San Diego. David continues to teach at the University of California San Diego during summers.

Eric also is working to hire Leeds School of Business students. Last summer聽Rob Bates聽(InfSys鈥88) trained to fly the new Boeing 787 Dreamliner. After serving 22 years in the U.S. Navy and Navy Reserves, Rob flies full time as a first officer with United Airlines. United initially will use the new fuel-efficient 787 on routes to Asia and Africa. Rob and his wife have been married for 18 years, have two children and live in San Diego, Calif.

In September聽Steven Wiesner聽(MCivEngr鈥88) was promoted to assistant aviation director at the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport. Steven is responsible for the planning and future expansions of the airport, as well as the North Perry Airport. He manages 45 engineers, project managers and planners in the airport development division. He writes, 鈥淲hen Buffs fly into Florida鈥檚 best airport and use the new runway, they use a project directed by a CU civil engineer.鈥

Chipotle Mexican Grill founder and co-CEO聽Steve Ells聽(Art鈥88)聽 teamed up with Boulder restaurateurs Bobby Stuckey and Lachlan Mackinnon-Patterson to start a casual pizza restaurant called Pizzeria Locale. The restaurant is similar in style to Chipotle in that it serves up pizza in less than two minutes at an assembly line counter. Steve lives in New York.

Ellen Weihe Gorsevski聽(Hum鈥88), an associate professor at Bowling Green State University, has published a new book,聽Dangerous Women. It tells the stories of the 11 women who have won the Nobel Peace Prize to date and explores the persuasive communication strategies and tactics they used for building peace and social justice, offering a close study of their modes of non-violent rhetoric. Prior to this, Neil spent 16 years at ESPN Media Networks directing its affiliate sales and marketing team, and managing syndication distribution and agreements. The devotional gives daily readings highlighting plants, landscapes and gardening metaphors found in the Bible. The book launched Shelley into a new career as a writer, blogger and garden speaker.
