Celebrating the Class of 2022!

CMCI's Graduation Recognition Ceremony will be from 9 to 11 a.m.ÌýFriday, May 6, in the CU Events Center. Doors to the CU Events Center open at 8 a.m.

CMCI Forever Buffs from the classes of 2020 and 2021 were also invited to participate.

There will be a light reception (with pastries and fruit) immediately following theÌýceremony in the event tents on the Business Field.

Stacy Feldman moved to Boulder in April 2020 to join the Ted Scripps Fellowship in Environmental Journalism at CMCI. As the COVID-19 crisis intensified, she realized she wasn’t getting the information she needed from the local news. So, she started something new, the Boulder Reporting Lab, and decided to reinvent the modern news model in the process.

Two CMCI undergraduate seniors, Lauren Irwin and Alec Levy-O'Brien, have earned top recognitions in the 2021–22 Hearst Journalism Awards, a national competition in which students submit their work to be judged by journalism professionals.

Al Nakkula Award: Injustice in Juvenile Courts

An investigative reporting series about the juvenile justice system in Rutherford County, Tennessee, won the 2022 Al Nakkula Award for Police Reporting. Produced by Nashville Public Radio’s Meribah Knight and ProPublica’s Ken Armstrong, the series revealed systemic injustice, sparked reform and demonstrated expert reporting on a secretive system.
