Emilyn听Sheffield

Emilyn Sheffield is a Professor of Recreation and Parks Management at California State University, Chico in beautiful northern California. For more than 20 years she has worked with partners to connect people to the parks and protected places that enhance our lives. Her 鈥渢rends work鈥 helps local, state, and federal agencies and conservation organizations to respond more effectively to changing demographic and lifestyle trends. She frequently keynotes gatherings of natural resource agencies, conservation and stewardship organizations, and tourism associations. She is currently exploring community engagement strategies in volunteerism and conservation stewardship at the Golden Gate National Parks in San Francisco.
Dr. Sheffield鈥檚 interdisciplinary team completes destination projects involving scenic byways, trails, heritage tourism infrastructure, and visitor services throughout California and the western U.S. Other projects increase support for public lands through branding, identity systems, strategic planning, and product development. California State Parks, the Save-the-Redwoods League, the National Park Service, the USDA Forest Service, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, the Bureau of Land Management, and local parks and tourism organizations are recent project sponsors or partners.
