Visiting Scholar, 2018-2019

In 2018-2019, Marufjon (Maruf) Mirakhmatov, an artisan and architectural historian听from Dushanbe,Tajikistan, and grandson of the artisan who built the Boulder Dushanbe Teahouse, worked听with interns and students in the teahouse restoration.听In collaboration with听Shawhin Roudbari, assistant professor of environmental design, Mirakhmatov co-taught听the ENVD class, 鈥淪pecial Topics: History and Historiography of Environmental Design: Restoring Dushanbe Teahouse,鈥� where students learned and worked side by side with Mirakhmatov, sanding and painting, to restore the inside and outside of the teahouse.听
