Growing Up Boulder

Abraham Profitt is a senior in 蜜桃传媒破解版下载's听Program in Environmental Design (ENVD), with an emphasis in planning. His interests include: walk and听bike planning, regional planning, social equity and transit issues, creative districts, community engagement, child-friendly cities听and urban food systems. He is听currently working听with Growing Up Boulder to develop an early childhood development transportation master plan and a child-friendly city map that encourages kids to explore their city through child-friendly designs by working with several preschool and elementary students to develop听plans, designs听and ideas for walkable neighborhoods throughout Boulder. He is also working on a walk/bike infrastructure research project that examines disparities in accessibility between low- and high-income residential neighborhoods in Denver.听

KGNU has a live conversation about a new, first in the nation, printed child-friendly city map that鈥檚 helping kids learn how to navigate their way around Boulder.

Growing Up Boulder, a collaboration among Boulder, the Boulder Valley School District and the University of Colorado Boulder, worked with about 700 elementary students for the project.

Working with about 700 Boulder elementary students and two University of Colorado Boulder environmental design seniors, Growing Up Boulder has created a new, child-friendly map of the city.
