        2. Reminder of our Mission Statement:

          1. The Cultural Events Board aims to broaden cultural knowledge by supporting the voices of underrepresented and misrepresented groups on campus, thereby promoting student engagement with their platforms. The Cultural Events Board encourages opportunities for interaction among students resulting in respect, appreciation, and understanding for cultural differences.

          1. Still have not received quotes from catering and flowers as of 09/19/22

            1. Ashley has checked in with them, they have not given her a response 

          2. Second year doing this event

            1. Not a lot of multicultural events that take place in the law school

          3. Event:

            1. Will be a two day event as that is what is common for latin communities in the US

              1. First day is for honoring the adults that have passed

                1. Community access to the ofrenda

                  1. People can build their own items to add to the communal ofrenda

              2. Second day for honoring children that have passed

              3. Food and drinks catered from local restaurants

                1. First day is more adult themed

                  1. Includes adult beverages

                2. Second day is targeted to all ages

              4. Will have a nine-person mariachi band

              5. Event has two main goals

                1. Give the latin community a chance to come together and bond over mutual loss

                2. Give non-community members an insight into what the tradition is like and help learn about the significance of the event

          1. When exactly is your event? On the budget request it says that it is from 6:00 p.m. on November 1st to 12:00 p.m. on November 2nd. 

            1. On November 1st, honoring adults 

              1. 6-8pm

            2. On November 2nd, honoring children 

              1. 9am-12pm

          2. Make sure that you provide CEB with full quotes for things you’d like us to fund - because we can’t fund general estimates without a quote from the merchant/seller.

            1. These can be increased/slightly adjusted later on.

          3. Where did the 120 projected attendance come from?

          2. Very impressive that they had 150 people show up for their event last year
