      1. 7:15 PM - Volunteers Around the World “Culture Day,” March 7th, 2022 in ECCR 1B40

        1. Notes

          1. Medical outreach club

          2. Traveling to Peru this summer to provide medical care and clinics

          3. Culture Day is in order to prepare interns/CU students for traveling to Peru

          4. Open to all CU students

          5. Will talk about Peruvian culture - this is why they want food from Rosario’s Peruvian restaurant

          6. Will cover Hero Complex and medical tourism

          7. Projected attendance: 100 

          8. Students will have to go through 2 separate application process to be able to go

          1. How does this event address white saviorism?

            1. Addressed via hero complex -- interns are not medical professionals, there to shadow and learn

          2. Have you reached out to the Volunteer Resource Center?

            1. No but they will

          3. Projected attendance?

            1. 70 members, expecting 100 (advertised on social media)

          4. How many people are accepted?

            1. 21 members who are traveling

          1. Please note that CEB only funds food when it is deemed necessary for the success of an event. If we do not fund your food, there are other funding sources available on campus (college student governments, Vice Chancellor, ODECE, etc.).

        4. Discussion

          1. Who gets to attend?

            1. If the event is focused on preparing for a service trip then is it still open to all students?

          2. Use the VRC to get official training for the event instead of just saying things along the lines of “don’t be a white savior.”

        5. Budgetary Questions (to send to organization)

          1. Will you all make sure to contact the Volunteer Resource Center and try to incorporate them into your event?

          2. Is there a way you could make the title of your event more specific?

        1. Notes

          1. Sigma Psi Zeta, Pi Lambda Chi, Tau Psi Omega

          2. Magnify exposure of APIDA heritage and focused on APIDA groups and their exposure

          3. Purpose: students of color undergo a culture shock -- this show celebrates different cultures on campus

          4. Provides opportunities for students to learn and share about cultures in a safe space and to celebrate their cultures and other cultures without being othered 

          5. Women of the world: acapella quartet represent Japan, Italy, India, and Haiti.

          6. Pyra: Thai singer/songwriter. Focused on “Dystopian Pop,” Provoke thinking and drive positive social change through art. Psi

            4. Headliner 2: Women of the World Acapella - $7,000 (honorarium + hotel) + $1440 (travel)

          2. Erin - are there any deals the school has with hotels surrounding campus? One of SPZ’s performers asked.

            1. Yes, they can work with CSI to get rates that are discounted for CU. The “deals”/rates will be based on time of year, day of the week, etc… They will also get the tax exempt status as well. 

          3. Please note that CEB only funds decorations deemed culturally relevant to the event. If CEB decides not to fund your decorations, there are other funding sources throughout campus we can point you towards.

          4. CEB policy dictates that we cannot fund photo booths. CSI may have one you can borrow/rent.

          1. Very thorough presentation.

          2. Involved many different cultural organizations

            1. Have had very good events in the past

          3. Event has evolved over time from a cultural competition to something that is less competitively inclined and focused more so on showcasing culture

        5. Budgetary Questions (to send to organization)

          2. If we fund their $10,000 then it would become a CEB collaboration

      3. CU Catalan Club “Making Traditional Catalan Panellets,” November 5th, 2021 4:00 PM

        1. Advertising:

          1. Advertising wasn’t great

            1. Poster could have been designed a little better

            2. Hard to get information on the event other than the posters

            3. Less than 2 weeks of advertising which may have impacted the reach of the event

            4. No tables in the UMC

          1. Fun event that was also culturally relevant

          2. Made sure that everyone was involved in the process

        3. Logistics:

          1. Started a little late (people also arrived late so this didn’t have much of an impact)
