We are pleased to share information about a new book written by CAS Associate Director and Associate Professor of History Tim Weston. See below for a description of the book. Tim will be holding a book signing event at Boulder Bookstore; more information is available at聽.

My new co-edited book (with Lionel M. Jensen),聽China in and beyond the Headlines, was recently published by Rowman & Littlefield Publishers. 聽The essay collection, which is the third that I have co-edited in a series on contemporary China, offers readers a panoramic view of today's China by focusing in depth, but in a highly accessible fashion, on important subjects both in the news and not so much in the news. 聽Subjects addressed in the book by experts in their areas include: the Internet and media, human rights, youth culture, legal reforms, ethnic tensions, urbanization, the environment, homosexuality, military defense, and the growth of tourism.

China in and beyond the Headlines聽grows out of a conference by the same name held at 蜜桃传媒破解版下载 two years ago. 聽That conference was funded most generously by the National Committee on Untied States-China Relations, which is dedicated to the promotion of mutual understanding between the United States and China. 聽The conference was also generously supported by the Center for Asian Studies at 蜜桃传媒破解版下载.
