As the summer winds down and we look ahead to a new fall semester, we’d be remiss if we didn’t take one last look back to spring semester and the fifth annual Student Awards Dinner hosted by the CU Real Estate Center (CUREC), where Leeds students were honored for their achievements in leadership and academics.

Awards were presented by Michael Kercheval, CUREC's executive director, and Kim and Gail Koehn, who sponsored one of the awards.

This was the first year of the Thibodeau Academic Achievement Award, in honor of real estate finance professor Tom Thibodeau’s recent retirement and also acknowledging a fund created in his honor. Based on their exceptionalGPAs, the award went to Philippe Brady, an MBA student who is now an acquisition analyst at Real Capital Solutions; Maxwell Mashaal, an undergraduate student who graduatedwith the Real Estate area of emphasis and now works at Eastdil Secured as an analyst; andConnor Jones, who got his MS in real estate and is now an investment analyst at Brinkman Real Estate.

“We were so honored to bestow a new award named for Tom Thibodeau, who inspired students and made a huge impact on CUREC as academic director for 17 years,” said Kercheval.
