Application Instructions

After reviewing the information below and gathering your materials, please complete the Official University of Colorado Boulder Graduate School application.

To support your application, please also submit:

1. A r茅sum茅 or curriculum vitae

2. A听3-5 page statement of purpose

  • The statement of purpose should detail听your academic and professional interest in the MS-CTD degree, indicating which track you intend to pursue (Social Impact or Creative Industries). You should also discuss longer term goals and describe how your background prepares you to pursue this degree.

3. A听personal听web site or online听portfolio of your work

  • What have you done that you鈥檙e especially pleased about? 听
    • Clearly credit all authors and collaborators on each work. Include a听URL on your r茅sum茅 and/or in your statement of purpose (include password information if your site is restricted).
    • This might comprise software, hardware, design or multimedia production or performance, or research papers.

4. Three听letters of recommendation听from individuals qualified to judge your potential for success in graduate school

  • Recommenders will听submit letters directly online.

5. Unofficial transcripts听from each听institution of higher learning that you have attended

6. Test Scores:

  • ATLAS accepts but does not require the Graduate Record听Exam (GRE).

International Students

STEM-OPT: All students in all ATLAS degree programs are eligible for extended STEM-OPT. The CIP code for these programs is 15.0000 [鈥淓ngineering Technology, General鈥漖

English Proficiency: If听your native language is not English, you must submit a documented TOEFL iBT score, Duolingo proficiency test score or听IELTS score.

  • TOEFL:
    • Minimum iBT score: 100

  • Duolingo:
    • Proficiency test scores of 125 or higher
