Denise Powell

Denise PowellÌýholds dual bachelor'sÌýdegrees in English and journalism from the University of Iowa and has worked as a professional editor in the publishing industry for many years. An advocate for women, she founded The Voices Project, an online literary magazine for women to express themselves through poetry to promote social change. She has worked in Ghana, West Africa, with OAfrica, an NGO that helps keep orphans and vulnerable children in families and currently serves on its US board of directors. An avid traveler, Denise has visited 43 countries. She graduated with a master's degree fromÌýÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½Æƽâ°æÏÂÔØ's ATLAS Institute on the ICTD track in 2018.
