Several Cadets from the Golden Buffalo Battalion came together for a volunteer opportunity to help build tiny homes for homeless veterans. The Veterans Community Project through Rex Laceby (a military veteran and former CU employee) sponsored the CU-Boulder Veterans Build Day in Longmont, Colorado.

Volunteers spent the day (8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.) working 鈥淪houlder to Shoulder鈥 to construct 26 tiny homes at the Boulder RV Service Center location in Longmont.

Build teams from the CU Veterans Alumni, Air Force ROTC Detachment 105, Army ROTC Golden Buffalo Battalion and some CU Student Veterans Association (SVA) students gave up their Saturday to help this great cause. Volunteers did not need to have prior construction experience.

Everyone was raring to get to work and get their hands dirty. The day was spent adding exterior sheathing, lashing and plywood roofs to 4 of the existing tiny house frame work.
